Accenture High Flyers Tour
Accenture wanted a large 55" portable touch-screen device with two games available for students in UK universities to test their analytical thinking. The scoreboard then displayed which universities had the highest scores.
A new shopping mall opened in Leeds and at the heart of it is Trinity Kitchen, a food hall with over 30 cafés, bars and restaurant. I helped develop an application that ran 24/7 on a massive screen that was made up of 9 55" monitors. The application included two touchscreen games which I produced using Starling and ActionScript.
RedBee Media hired me to develop an iPad application that their sales staff could take into client meetings and show off the companies work. I used Adobe Air, ActionScript, Away3D, Starling and Feathers to build this project in just 6 weeks.
FRijj - Swamp Soccerettes Facebook website
FRijj commissioned a website to promote their thick milkshakes and to increase their online visibility via Facebook. So I helped Syzygy develop a Flash-based website with Facebook integration while another developer concentrated on the augmented reality page.
M&S Seasons Trend Application
LBi contracted me to help them build a Flash application for M&S which was embedded into their website... The application has a list of icons along the bottom of the screen which when clicked would stream a video of another outfit. From a technical point of view, this project required video streaming, XML feeds and the Amazon Web Services for hosting the application's assets.
E-on YouTube Channel
E-on wanted to customise their YouTube channel with a Flash application embedded in the center... I worked very closely with a PHP developer who wrote the proxy scripts which supplied my Flash application with the YouTube data it required. The biggest challenge was that the YouTube API was in the process of being re-written by Google which made testing the app very tricky.
A microsite with a 3D navigation which required Maya and Papervision to achieve the final effect... While working for Syzygy I worked alongside another Flash developer who built the main structure of the microsite but needed help with the 3D spinning arrow heads. This involved modelling and texturing the arrow heads inside of Maya and then automating the process using Papervision so that the textures could be updated on the fly.
Mazda Underwater Site
This site was built using Papervision, ActionScript 3 and Maya which I used to simplify the layout and positioning of the bubbles in 3D space... This data was then exported into an XML file and parsed within Flash to allow the designers to be able to layout the scene with pinpoint accuracy.
Mazda Underwater Site - A second look
Another screen grab of the underwater site...
Walls - Magnum microsite
A microsite for Walls to promote the new range of ice creams that were aimed at female chocolate lovers... More copy of come...
Playstation: PS Vita - Whack-a-deviant game
To promote new games for Playstation's PS Vita they wanted to produce some fun online Flash games that would let user win prizes and compete with friends on Facebook.
Skoda - Citigo Facebook app
Škoda wanted a Facebook Flash game to allow users to spin a wheel to win prizes which they could share with one of their Facebook friends. I worked closely with a Dot Net developer to get the Facebook integration working, and I also worked with a second Flash developer too.
Mazda5 Car Loading Game
Load the car with all of the families holiday luggage before the children get bored... Mazda wanted a fun game for children and adults to play to advertise how much space the new Mazda5 has. You drag the items into the car in the right order as quickly as possible otherwise the children will get bored.
Mazda - Reaction Test Game
A simple reaction test game to promote a competition that Mazda was running... The game is based on the reaction test that all racing drivers take to measure the speed they can responde to a situation.
Tesco 2.5D Carousel
I used the technique 2.5D for this project which gives the illusion of 3D without the cpu out-heads...
Tesco Carousel Prototype
A rapid prototype to prove the concept would work and that rendering speeds in ActionScript 2 would be fast enough... To prove that the 2.5D approach to the Tesco carousel was the correct solution I created a quick prototype first which took about two hours to build and was signed off by the client the following day.
Mercedes Day Planner
A day planner for the general public to plan there visit to the Mercedes event... Mercedes were hosting a day of events to show off their products and needed an app for the general public to use before they arrived so that they could make the most of the day.
Year Long Banner
A Flash ad banner creation tool which allows the user to build hundreds of banner formats in just a few seconds... While working for Syzygy a project was handed to the Flash department to produce Flash ad banners for an entire year. To save our sanity we decided to build a tool that would streamline the production of the many different formats. I built a system that used XML files to organise the campaigns, layouts and styles which was then ran through a PHP script which then created every SWF file required for each banner. These banners were then visible through a simple web based previewing tool.
